DriveCast Privacy Policy

Data stored on your device

DriveCast is designed to work without a DriveCast account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or developer-operated media backend. M3U subscription names, source addresses, channel metadata, favorites, playback preferences, and cached playlist information are stored on your device.

When you open artwork, playlists, or media, your device connects directly to the source you selected. That source may receive ordinary network information under its own privacy policy. The web video browser connects directly to websites you visit. Website cookies, sessions, and caches are kept on your device; websites may process connection data under their own policies. DriveCast does not use a developer-operated web proxy and does not read or upload website passwords.

Local network

The receiver uses the local network to discover and receive supported DLNA or UPnP requests.

Screen sharing

Screen sharing starts only after you explicitly approve Apple's system sharing controls. DriveCast processes screen video and app audio, not microphone audio. Shared media is processed and temporarily buffered on your device for playback locally or over your local network on the receiving device you choose. It is not uploaded to developer servers.

Only a bounded window of temporary media is kept. Normal session cleanup removes it; after an interruption, remnants may remain until an inactive session is detected or a new session starts.

Diagnostics and sharing

A small rotating diagnostic log is stored locally. Sensitive URL details and network identifiers are redacted where designed. Logs are never sent automatically; you choose whether to export a log through the iOS share sheet, and the selected destination then applies its own terms.

Purchases, retention, and control

Apple processes App Store purchases and transaction information. DriveCast reads StoreKit entitlement status needed to unlock features but does not receive your full payment details.

To enforce the daily free allowance, DriveCast stores the day interval, latest check time, and consumed allowance locally in Keychain without uploading them. System Keychain records may remain after uninstalling the app; uninstalling does not guarantee deletion of this record or a reset of that day’s allowance.

Other local app data remains until you remove it, clear the related setting or log, or uninstall the app, subject to device backups you control. You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings. DriveCast does not sell personal information.
